That's right, GOG.com has just announced they are supporting Linux, way ahead of their scheduled dates of around October or November. The launch brings 50 Linux-compatible games right away.
GOG.com announced it on their website today, no doubt to the surprise of many. GOG.com says that 100 Linux games is still the number they are aiming to hit in the coming months but "decided not to delay the launch just for the sake of having a nice-looking number to show off to the press", opting to launch now with the fully supported and working 50 titles.
Of course, being GOG.com, all titles are "DRM-free". The 50 titles currently offered for Linux are as follows:

In pleasing news for non-Ubuntu based distribution users, "distro-independent" tar.gz archives will be provided as well as DEB installers for those who do use Ubuntu and/or Mint. Currently official support is only offered for users playing GOG.com provided games on Ubuntu and Mint, although for anyone already using services like Valve's Steam this isn't anything new or unusual.
Even better, GOG.com is currently got a special promo going in celebration of the Linux launch, offering up to 75% off on many of the aforementioned titles.
GOG.com supporting Linux is a big step in the Linux gaming world, especially considering how they initially seemed like they would never offer Linux support due to, in their views, the increased difficulty of providing support with the fragmentation and number of Linux distributions.
